Simon Porte Jacquemus will curate a Lalanne exhibition for Christie’s in October.

Christie’s will host a solo auction of François-Xavier Lalanne’s sculptures, with an exhibition curated by fashion designer Simon Porte Jacquemus. The auction will feature 70 zoomorphic works from the artist’s daughter’s collection, following Lalanne’s record-breaking sales in recent years. The Jacquemus-curated accompanying exhibition will be open to the public at Christie’s Rockefeller Center from Oct. 4-10.

The Getty museum issues an apology for injuries caused by PST Art pyrotechnics.

The Getty museum has apologized for injuries and disturbances caused by Cai Guo-Qiang‘s “explosion event” at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, which was part of the PST Art initiative. Falling debris from the pyrotechnic display injured several attendees, while the loud noise and smoke upset nearby residents.

Kengo Kuma & Associates completes an undulating canopy at the Lisbon Art Center.

Kengo Kuma & Associates has transformed Lisbon’s Centro de Arte Moderna Gulbenkian with an extension that integrates a sweeping wood-clad canopy inspired by traditional Japanese architecture. The project enhances connections between the building and its surrounding gardens, while introducing new gallery spaces, circulation routes, and glazed facades to brighten the interiors. 

JetBlue announces Boston and New York lounges, as well as an airline credit card.

JetBlue will open its first airport lounges at JFK and Boston Logan airports in 2025. The lounges will cater to top-tier loyalty members, Mint cabin passengers, and future premium credit cardholders, offering a range of amenities like full-service bars, private workspaces, and complimentary food as part of JetBlue’s broader $400 million push to enhance its premium offerings and compete with larger airlines. 

A verdant installation by Brazilian artist Caio Reisewitz lands at the Barcelona Pavilion.

Brazilian artist Caio Reisewitz has transformed Mies van der Rohe’s Barcelona Pavilion with a botanical installation titled Suspendre el cel. Reisewitz uses nearly 600 tropical and Mediterranean plants to address urgent issues such as the destruction of the Amazon rainforest and the erosion of indigenous cultures, drawing on Yanomami beliefs to emphasize the need for environmental protection—a key issue Brazil is currently facing.
