While the first edition of Inside~Out shed light on the long-overlooked outdoor sector of furniture design, its second act takes on new significance as society’s attitude toward outdoor space completely changed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Visions in outdoor design that created safe opportunities for social engagement suddenly became integral for designers—a theme explored here through more than 20 outdoor sculptures by rising designers such as Bailey Fontaine, Malcolm Majer, and Kin & Company, who organized the show. It also teases the newly rising Saint Marks Place, an upcoming residential development in Boerum Hill designed by INC Architecture & Design.
