Sandy Liang and Friends Ring In the Year of the Dragon

On Jan. 31, the fashion designer hosted her annual Lunar New Year party with chef Danny Bowien at Boom, atop the Standard High Line. Guests ascended 40 stories above the Meatpacking District skyline and were greeted with party favors in the form of temporary tattoos commemorating the gathering in honor of the year of the dragon. Flutes of Pommery champagne awaited the crowd as they entered the Roman and Williams-designed Boom, where a crowd of beauty, fashion, and media downtowners mingled over sets by DJ Parker Radcliffe. Bowien and Liang made rounds among the crowd throughout the night. While many of the guests and event staff wore bows, a design signature of Liang’s eponymous label, the designer fittingly wore the biggest one of all.
