Mark Ronson and KAWS Hold Down Baxter St.’s Benefête

On Oct. 8, the Lower East Side was alight with the energy of New York’s visual artists and patrons who gathered at the Box to support photographic art incubator Baxter St. The evening honored artists Julia Chang, KAWS, Naima Green, and Mark Ronson, with Ronson taking to the stage to DJ after the benefit’s opening remarks. Over the course of the evening, guests partook in aura photography and tarot card readings while the club’s aerial acrobats performed overhead. Proceeds from the benefit party will support the organization’s Workspace Residency, exhibitions, and Conversations programming. Notables in attendance included Sarah Arison, Michi Jigarjian, Vivien Lewit, José Parlà, Jil Weinstock, Nicola Vassell, Lee Quiñones, Tommy Kha, Nazy Nazhand, Shantell Martin, and more.
