Jacquemus brings an OMA-designed store to SoHo’s luxury fashion corridor.

Simon Porte Jacquemus has opened his label’s first U.S. storefront in New York’s SoHo neighborhood, with plans for additional locations in London and Los Angeles by next year. The French designer, who won this year’s Couture Council Award for Artistry, aims to expand his brand globally while remaining independent, despite industry speculation linking him to major luxury houses like Chanel. 

An appellate judge pauses the Elizabeth Street Garden’s eviction by two weeks.

New York’s Elizabeth Street Garden won a temporary reprieve from eviction after a judge paused its demolition to allow more time for an appeal. The city plans to replace the beloved sculpture garden with Haven Green, a mixed use development that will temporarily feature affordable housing along with offices and luxury retail.

Bally’s proposes to build a cluster of hotel towers around Vegas’ Oakland A’s stadium.

Entertainment company Bally’s has unveiled a master plan for a hotel and casino complex surrounding the Bjarke Ingels Group–designed Oakland A’s stadium in Las Vegas. The proposal includes three hotel towers to be built in phases, alongside casinos, pools, and entertainment spaces. 

Pharrell Williams, Mohari Hospitality, Omnam Investment Group go in on a Paris hotel.

Mohari Hospitality, Omnam Group, and Pharrell Williams have acquired the former Hôtel Saint-James & Albany in Paris, located near the Tuileries Gardens and the Louvre. The collaboration with Williams is a first for the joint venture between Mohari and Omnam, with the project aiming to transform the historic 17th-century property into a modern luxury hotel.

Tim Cook is stewarding Nike leaders through layoffs and decreased market demand.

Apple CEO Tim Cook, who is also a longtime member of Nike’s board, is playing a pivotal role in guiding the sportswear giant through a challenging period. Amid declining sales, layoffs, and leadership changes, Cook helped secure Elliott Hill, a veteran Nike executive, as the new CEO to drive a turnaround.
