At MoMA, the Art Students League Honored One of Their Own

Earlier this week, the Art Students League of New York celebrated its 149-year legacy of bringing arts education to city dwellers of all ages and backgrounds. With its distinguished alumni including Georgia O’Keeffe, Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, and Ai Weiwei, the organization continues to play an active role in cultivating the next generation of artists. This year’s gala directly benefits the League’s scholarship and youth education programs. Instructor and artist James Little, patrons Robin Lechter Frank and Dr. Ronald Frank, and the late artist and League alumna Louise Nevelson were honored at this year’s gala. Notables in attendance included Steven Klein, Patricia Cronin, Torkwase Dyson, Derek Fordjour, Deborah Kass, Jeffrey Meris, Sharon Sprung, and more.
