Rashid Johnson will be the first artist honored at the Norton Museum of Art’s gala.

Palm Beach’s Norton Museum of Art will honor Rashid Johnson at its forty-ninth annual Gala on February 1, 2025, marking the first time the institution celebrates an artist at this event. The evening will include a Sotheby’s auction featuring works by Johnson and other prominent artists, with proceeds supporting the museum’s curatorial, educational, and community programs. Johnson, a leading contemporary artist, is known for his multidisciplinary work exploring cultural identity and history, and two of his major pieces will soon join the Norton’s permanent collection.

Carpenters Workshop Gallery, Laffanour, Friedman Benda, and more will headline TEFAF.

TEFAF New York will return to the Park Avenue Armory this spring, from May 9-13, with 91 exhibitors presenting an exceptional mix of modern art, design, jewelry, and antiquities. Highlights this year include compelling displays of contemporary craftsmanship alongside rare antiquities, with major art and design galleries such as Hauser & Wirth, Gagosian, Galerie Kreo, as well as Carpenters Workshop, Laffanour, and Friedman Benda anchoring the roster.

Aalto University’s new Nokia Design Archive will highlight more than 20,000 archival works.

The newly launched Nokia Design Archive by Helsinki’s Aalto University provides a digital glimpse into the tech company’s design contributions from the mid-1990s to 2017. Currently featuring over 700 entries, including sketches and prototypes, the archive highlights the brand’s creative legacy and cultural impact. This release coincides with Nokia’s shifting presence in the smartphone market, as its branding transitions under new ownership, as well as the acquisition of roughly 20,000 archival objects from Microsoft.

Pamela Anderson’s Baywatch swimsuit is at the center of a London museum show.

The Design Museum in London will debut “Splash! A Century of Swimming and Style” in March 2025, showcasing swimwear’s evolution over the last century. Pamela Anderson’s iconic red Baywatch swimsuit will be featured alongside historic pieces like the banned LZR Racer swimsuit and one of the earliest bikinis. Spanning over 200 objects, the exhibition examines swimwear’s journey from functional attire to a symbol of style, body autonomy, and cultural shifts.
