The inaugural exhibition of the newly renovated and reinstalled Getty Villa, this group show gathers contemporary artworks that engage with the teachings and concepts of the classical philosopher. Sculptures, paintings, drawings, and installations by Jeff Koons, Rachel Harrison, and Paul Chan are featured, alongside original work specially created for the occasion by Joseph Kosuth, Paul McCarthy, Whitney McVeigh, and Adrian Piper.
