Surface marked the start of Milan Design Week 2018 with a party at The Diner, the pop-up restaurant designed by architect David Rockwell with 2×4, located in Ventura Centrale. Among the guests in attendance were Design Within Reach’s CEO Jon Edelman, Cosentino’s North America Director Ana Granados, and other partners—including Murray’s Cheese, Shaw Contract, Focus Lighting, and Pure+FreeForm, among others—who contributed to the project.
During the peak of Monday night’s bash, while music and sounds by Music for Architecture with Peter Adjaye reverberated throughout the installation, we asked some of the guests in attendance what they thought makes The Diner so great. Their answers were as varied as the personalities that filled the space.
