For its sixth year, the leading Danish art fair convenes 32 galleries to celebrate the Nordic region’s art and design. Among the program highlights are solo presentations featuring the work of Finnish photographer Elina Brotherus (Galleria Heino), Swedish artist Peter Köhler (Galleri Magnus Karlsson), and Tony Cragg (Andersson/Sandström), in addition to talks and site-specific projects. Chart Design
This year, the fair’s design platform pays tribute to Skønvirke, the early-20th-century Scandinavian movement that emphasized quality craft, with a lineup of 12 leading Nordic galleries—from Sweden’s Stockholmmodern to Denmark’s Etage Projects—showcasing collectible and contemporary design objects.

Alice Anderson “Cables Data”
A sequel to her 2015 digital age-inspired show, “Data Space,” at Espace Louis Vuitton Paris, the French performance artist unveils a site-specific installation at the Den Frie Centre of Contemporary Art that incorporates internet cables to reflect on connectivity.

Chart Curio: “Trans Act!”
In its latest iteration, Curio continues to spotlight emerging Danish talents with an exhibition headlined by 13 young Nordic craft makers. Ceramicist Pernille Pontoppidan, furniture design Jonas Edvard, and sculptor Ane Fabricius Christiansen are just some artists producing site-specific works installed in and around Den Frie.

Pearla Pigao “Sinus”
In collaboration with the fair, the Designmuseum Denmark presents the Norwegian sound artist’s 2017 prize-winning interactive installation. Inspired by the theremin—an electronic musical instrument played without physical contact—it features massive pieces of cotton and copper wire–woven textile that generate electronic tones in response to the spectator’s movements and proximity.
