Industrial design studio INSTRMNT has added to their offerings of classic watch products a minimal full-length umbrella. Built in Glasgow using Japanese fabric and vegetable-tanned leather and featuring a rare button close feature, the R-Series umbrella has our editors stamp of approval—particularly considering this past week of rainy days in New York.
Saint-Louis Debuts Lighting Showroom in New York’s Decoration & Design Building
Located in the D&D building in the heart of New York’s Design District, Saint-Louis‘ new showroom highlights over 15 lighting collections and collaborations. The space will also allow for designers and customers to customize each design from color to size to shape.
The Saint-Louis Lighting Showroom is located in Suite 816 in the D&D Building at 979 3rd Avenue, New York.
The contemporary mens’ jewelry brand Alex Orso has collaborated with digital type foundry Colophon to create a custom engraving service. They’ve also come together to fashion a wholly new typeface that compliments the minimalist design of each Alex Orso piece.
Patricia Anastassiadis debuts furniture collection for Brazilian brand Artefacto
Brazilian-based architect, founder of Anastassiadis Arquitetos, and art director for Artefcato, Patricia Anastassiadis, has just unveiled the company’s 2019 collection. The line features three main themes: “Terracotta,” “Cut Piece,” and “Soft Fiction,” each played out through a range of sofas, tables and armchairs.
Callidus Guild Combines Architecture and Art to Create Triptych
For the debut of Apparatus Studio’s Interlude collection in NYC, Callidus Guild create three triptych panels. The lighting studio and architecture firm collaborated to best showcase the new collection. The panels were finished in plaster to look like an aged plaster and marble facade.
The new textile-covered sofa from nea studio is comprised of two daybeds facing opposite directions. The structure of the backrest, as well as the seating, is filled with organic latex and lentil beans for better support. The curved design of the sofa mimics the natural curves and movements of the body and, being made entirely of organic materials, The Beanie is LEED certified, made entirely of organic materials.
