Describe what you make: I make furniture and objects that are generally driven by material narrative, identity, and poetics.
The most important thing you’ve designed to date: A couple of years ago I made the Wet Wool Chair, which now feels like a starting point: something generative for future bodies of work and this furniture world I’ve stepped into. Not necessarily in a thematic, formal, or conceptual sense, but as a signal to myself and others that this framework is where I’ve landed with my practice.
Describe the problem your work solves: I’m not sure I’m solving any real problems with my work—just the ones I create for myself by wanting to make something.
Describe the project you’re working on now: I just finished my first dining chair. The DRY KISS Chair (Don’t Repeat Yourself, Keep It Simple Stupid). I’m excited to get more of these made and into people’s homes. I’m working on a table that is from the same family. I’m also swamped with a bunch of fabrication work for other designers.
