Miami members club Casa Tua expands to the Surrey Hotel on the Upper East Side.
Casa Tua, the Miami-based members club and restaurant founded by Miky Grendene, has expanded to New York with a location at the Upper East Side’s Surrey Hotel. Following successful expansions to both Aspen and Paris, its latest outpost will feature both a public restaurant, lounge, and a private members-only space with personalized service.

Related Companies has released its plans for Hudson Yards West, a $12 billion project on an undeveloped trainyard west of Hudson Yards. The project will feature a 5.6-acre park called Hudson Green, 1,500 apartments, and an 80-story Wynn Resorts hotel and casino. The developer tapped SOM to design the 13-acre master plan, which also includes office space and a public grade school.
A “dead” NFT market has wrought a 44 percent loss on investment for token owners.
A recent report by NFTevening reveals that 95 percent of NFTs are now considered “dead,” with the average owner facing a 44.5 percent loss on their investment. The study analyzed more than 5,000 NFT collections and 5 million transactions, attributing their decline to the speculative nature of NFTs and their short average lifespan of 1.14 years.
Singapore’s mass timber business school building Gaia seems to be infected with mold.
Mold has been found growing on Gaia, a mass timber building at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore, designed by Toyo Ito and RSP Architects. The mold seems to be due to condensation and rain exposure rather than the timber itself, with the university pledging ongoing remediation through regular cleaning and maintenance.
ICA San Francisco more than doubles its footprint by moving to the Financial District.
The two-year-old Institute of Contemporary Art San Francisco is relocating from its present spot in the city’s Dogpatch neighborhood. Its larger space in the Financial District’s Cube building is rent- and utility-free for the next two years, and more than doubles its exhibition space to 26,000 square feet. The new location will open on October 25 with a group show curated by Larry Ossei-Mensah, coinciding with Black Art Week.
