Creative Time’s Community Rings In 50 Years
On Oct. 30, Creative Time marked its 50th anniversary with its largest annual gala to date, drawing guests from the worlds of art, fashion, entertainment, and philanthropy. Held at the Skylight at The Refinery atop Brooklyn’s iconic Domino Sugar Factory, the evening honored artists Rashid Johnson and Doug Aitken, as well as architects Liz Diller and Ricardo Scofidio. Co-chairs Linda Goode Bryant, Lily Johnson White, and Kate Young led the event, which raised funds to support Creative Time in its mission to amplify artists’ voices and spark conversations on current issues through public art. After cocktail hour, guests were welcomed to their seats with a breath meditation and performance by Alex Tatarsky before enjoying a dinner menu by chef Chinchakriya “Char” Un and cannabis treats provided by Gotham. Afterward, they headed upstairs to dance the night away to DJ sets by Papi Juice and a surprise karaoke setup by Blue Rose Royalty. Notables in attendance included Thelma Golden, Sheree Hovsepian, Natasha Lyonne, Anne Pasternak, Jen Rubio, Komal Shah, Ty Sunderland, Chloe Wise, Justine Ludwig, Diya Vij, Waris Ahluwalia, Aquaria, Christine Messineo, and more.
