Cy Twombly at the Centre Georges Pompidou
Paris
On November 30 a comprehensive retrospective of Cy Twombly’s work will be unveiled at the Paris museum. More than 140 paintings, drawings, photographs, and sculptures—many never before exhibited in France— will be organized chronologically around three of his major cycles: “Nine Discourses on Commodus” (1963), “Fifty Days at Iliam” (1978), and “Coronation of Sesostris” (2000). This approach intends to highlight his process, in which one completed work rarely meant he was finished with an idea. The exhibition will be on view through April 24. centrepompidou.fr
