The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has pledged $100 million to construct an 11-acre Philadelphia park along the Delaware River. Planning and landscape architecture firm Hargreaves Associates is behind the proposal, which is estimated to cost a total $250 million.

To increase its premium cabin experience, Delta has enlisted Italian brand Alessi to bring in its well-designed, contemporary tableware and service products. This is the first time Alessi’s products will be used in such an in-flight program.

Haitian-born fashion designer Azede Jean-Pierre is working with local artists to create new uniforms for schools in Haiti. “All education in Haiti is private, and I know firsthand how difficult it is for families to afford the tuition, let alone the additional necessities like books, transportation, and uniforms,” said Jean-Pierre. “This project gives parents much-needed support, and it’s my hope that it will increase the efficiency of the traditional attire, as well as boost student self-esteem.”

Jil Sander’s creative director, Rodolfo Paglialunga, is leaving the company. Designers Lucie and Luke Meier are expected to succeed Paglialunga. Lucie is best known for briefly overseeing the ready-to-wear and couture studios at Dior under Raf Simons, while Luke Meier is the cofounder and designer of the men’s brand OAMC.
