Diller Scofidio + Renfro champion “Restless Architecture” with a MAXXI show in Rome.

Diller Scofidio + Renfro’s “Restless Architecture” exhibition, which is on view at Rome’s MAXXI museum until March 2025, explores motion and change as defining forces in contemporary design. The show uses models, mockups, and prototypical designs to highlight architecture’s  present-day adaptability, mobility, operability, and ecodynamism in the face of shifting societal and environmental demands.

The home of Sea Ranch architect George Homsey hits the market for $2.45 million.

A San Francisco home designed by Sea Ranch architect George Homsey for his own family is on the market for the first time in more than 60 years. The property, which was built in 1961, is listed for $2.45 million and incorporates the warm materiality, embrace of natural light, and attentiveness to form that went on to permeate the Northern Californian enclave. 

Beginning in the New Year, new CEOs will take charge of Saint Laurent and Balenciaga.

Kering has named Balenciaga’s Cédric Charbit as the incoming CEO of Saint Laurent. Gianfranco Gianangeli, formerly Saint Laurent’s chief commercial officer, will take the top job at Balenciaga as CEO. All leadership changes are scheduled to take effect beginning on January 2, 2025.
