Ellen Hodakova Larsson of Hodakova has wins the LVMH Prize for Young Designers.
Swedish fashion designer Ellen Hodakova Larsson has been awarded the 2024 LVMH Prize for Young Designers. Larsson will receive more than $440,000 and a year of mentorship from LVMH leaders. Other wins included Duran Lantink, who received the Karl Lagerfeld Special Jury Prize, and Michael Stewart’s Standing Ground, which won the inaugural Savoir-Faire Prize.
Chicago’s Obama Presidential Center will feature a monumental Julie Mehretu mural.
Julie Mehretu will create an 83-foot-tall stained glass mural, Uprising of the Sun, for the Obama Presidential Center, which will open in Chicago in 2026. The mural will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Selma marches, incorporating imagery from influential Black artists Robert S. Duncanson, Jacob Lawrence, and Afewerk Tekele.

The Biden administration announced it will distribute $521 million in new grants to 30 states for electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, focusing on underserved communities and rural areas.
