At Faena Art’s Annual Gala, Mismatched Patterns and Cultural Exchange
On Nov. 10, Faena Art held its annual gala at Faena Forum Miami Beach. In addition to an evening of art, music, and culinary experiences, the nonprofit announced the winner of this year’s Faena Prize for the Arts, awarding Paula de Solminihac with the prestigious honor, which comes with a $100,000 prize and the chance to exhibit work during Miami Art Week. Honoring the gala’s theme of “Patterns of Paradise,” guests donned mismatched patterns as an ode to the interconnectivity of cultures and collective consciousness. Guests enjoyed an artistic intervention by Xander Ferreira, performances by Kianí del Valle and Gazelle, a live DJ set by Pascale Moscheni, and culinary treats by chef Erik Ramirez, Francis Mallman, and Paul Qui. Notable attendees included Alan Faena, Dan Gelber, Ximena Caminos, and Scott Greenstein. Photos by David X Prutting and Diane Zapata/BFA.
