FKA twigs kicks off Eusexua promo with a performance art debut at Sotheby’s London.

FKA Twigs has unveiled The Eleven, a durational performance at Sotheby’s in London, in tandem with the release of her upcoming album Eusexua. The piece, developed over months, explores healing and self-discovery through movement, featuring performers enacting twigs’ physical mantras based on the 11 pillars she deems essential to well-being. Tickets to performances of The Eleven are free and open to the public through Sept. 26.

Apple’s AirPods Pro 2 will become the first FDA-certified over-the-counter hearing aid.

The FDA has authorized Apple’s second-generation AirPods Pro to function as the first clinical-grade, over-the-counter hearing aids. Users with mild to moderate hearing loss will benefit from a self-fitting strategy that produces results comparable to professional hearing aid fitting. Additional features like Hearing Protection mode, hearing tests, and personalized audio profiles provide enhanced customization and hearing care.

Refik Anadol’s AI-driven Antonín Dvořák installation lands at the Kennedy Center.

0xCollection has brought Refik Anadol’s AI-driven art installation, Dvořák Dreams, to the Kennedy Center’s Reach Plaza. The multimedia work pays tribute to the Czech composer by merging digital visuals with his music, and a new AI-created composition informed by 200 of Dvořák’s own musical pieces.

The U.S. may soon require airlines to pay passengers for flight delays and cancellations.

The Biden Administration is proposing legislation that would require U.S. airlines to compensate passengers for flight delays or cancellations within their control, similar to policies that are already in place in Europe. This would include cash payments, in addition to the meals and accommodations airlines are already required to compensate in the event of major delays or cancellations. 

Shigeru Ban has been named the 2024 Praemium Imperiale laureate for architecture.

Shigeru Ban has been named the 2024 Praemium Imperiale laureate in the Architecture category, in recognition of his innovation and humanitarian work, such as emergency shelters and disaster relief projects. This latest honor adds to his long list of accolades, including the 2014 Pritzker Prize, for his commitment to architecture’s societal impact.
