After 30 years at the helm of MoMA, director Glenn Lowry prepares to depart his post.

Longtime MoMA director Glenn Lowry will step down from his post next September, leaving behind a legacy of significant museum growth and of increased diversity in its collection. Industry speculation indicates MoMA’s board will prioritize a candidate with fundraising expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to maintain the institution’s prestige and stability.

Colm Dillane staged a comedy show and two collaboration reveals at the Apollo Theater.

Colm Dillane of KidSuper recently took to the Apollo Theater to host his third comedy show, Funny Business. The event also showcased upcoming collaborations with Puma and Lovesac, whose proceeds will benefit the Apollo Theater Foundation. The night culminated in a surprise performance by Harlem rapper Jim Jones.

Bonhams auction house will soon occupy the historic Steinway Hall on Billionaire’s Row.

Bonhams will relocate its New York headquarters to the historic Steinway Hall on 57th Street, better known by some as Billionaires’ Row, by the end of 2025. The new space will afford the auction house expanded galleries and sales rooms compared to its current location on Madison Avenue.

Michelin adds 12 more restaurants to this year’s list of contenders for stars.

Michelin has added 12 new restaurants to its 2024 Guide, including Fort Greene’s Sailor, Massara, from Rezdôra’s team, and the fine dining establishment Ilis in Greenpoint. Tribeca’s Eulalie, seafood bar Penny, and chef Victoria Blamey’s relaunch of Blanca are also on the list.

Toshiko Mori Architects reveals the next phase of its Brooklyn Public Library renovation.

Toshiko Mori Architects’s next phase of the Brooklyn Public Library’s central branch renovation will include expanded spaces for children, teens, and adults. While phase one primarily focused on updating administrative spaces, the firm will now update the library’s learning centers with computer labs, classrooms, and dedicated areas for experiencing technology, music, and podcasts. Future plans include an outdoor reading garden connected to the neighboring Mount Prospect Park.
