Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez have been appointed to lead Loewe.

Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, the visionary duo behind Proenza Schouler, have been named Loewe’s new creative directors, succeeding Jonathan Anderson. Their appointment marks a significant shift for the LVMH-owned brand, as they bring a New York edge to Loewe’s legacy of craftsmanship and cultural storytelling. Set to take the helm in April, they aim to honor the house’s artisanal roots while expanding its global reach and creative influence.

Following an alert from California’s Attorney General, 23andMe approaches bankruptcy.

California’s attorney general Rob Bonta has urged 23andMe customers to request data deletion as the DNA testing firm struggles with financial instability. Following a major data breach, plummeting stock prices, and mass layoffs, the company has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and is seeking a buyer. Despite leadership changes and assurances that user data remains secure, concerns over privacy and the firm’s future continue to mount.

The Malibu Tadao Ando house gutted by Kanye West is once again for sale.

The Tadao Ando-designed Malibu home that Kanye West stripped down is back on the market for $39 million, less than a year after investor Steven “Bo” Belmont bought it for $21 million with plans to restore it. Belmont, facing $1 million in monthly carrying costs, is hoping to offload it before completion, though renovations—including new plumbing, electrical, and windows—are underway. With Malibu’s tight real estate market driving demand, he expects a higher price closer to completion but has already received offers in the $28 to $30 million range.

A $3.5 million Yayoi Kusama sale from David Zwirner kicks Art Basel Hong Kong into high gear.

Art Basel Hong Kong opened with strong sales, led by a $3.5 million work by Yayoi Kusama sold by David Zwirner. Despite economic concerns in the region, the contemporary art market seems relatively unaffected with galleries reporting speedy sales, including a $2 million Louise Bourgeois work at Hauser & Wirth, and a $1.29 million Georg Baselitz painting at Thaddaeus Ropac.  

A Texas county has dropped its lawsuit against the MoMA of Fort Worth over its Sally Mann exhibition.

Texas authorities have dropped their case against the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth over Sally Mann’s photographs, which faced accusations of being inappropriate depictions of children. The museum had cooperated with the investigation, while civil liberties groups condemned the case as a First Amendment violation. Though the legal battle has ended, the fate of the seized photographs remains uncertain.
