DESIGNER OF THE DAY

Designer of the Day: Marcin Rusak

Whether suspending flowers in resin or crafting Art Nouveau–style furnishings out of metallic plant matter, Marcin Rusak’s sculptural works ask questions about evolution, patterns of consumption, and their implications on the world at large. For the Polish artist’s Milan Design Week debut, he presents the solo showcase “Unnatural Practice”—a living catalogue of the decaying, ephemeral, and preserved works that provide an often breathtaking snapshot of his studio’s current focus on scientific research and the art of transformation.
