Location: Hvar, Croatia
Designer: LA.M Studio
On Offer: It’s summertime in Hvar, which means it’s time for the Croatian island in the cerulean Adriatic Sea to reclaim its noble pedigree as one of the Mediterranean’s glamour destinations. This year, visitors will have an idyllic new place to stay: Maslina. Paris–based LA.M Studio conceived the holistic resort with aromatic gardens, natural materials such as warm woods and Brač island stone, and 52 neutral–hued rooms with loggias overlooking Maslinica bay.
Standout Features: Sequestered in Stari Grad away from Hvar’s party scene, a laid-back spirit pervades the pine tree–strewn property where languid days are spent partaking in sound therapy and vibrational healing at the Pharomatiq Spa, tucking into gregada fish stew at the seasonal restaurant, and sunning at the beach bar with freshly blended fruit juices in tow. From the staff uniforms by local designer Sara Lončarić and Croatian actor Marija Tadić’s botanical rich Primitivance skincare products to the ancient olive trees dotting the grounds, a strong sense of place is one of Maslina’s most enticing qualities.
