Two Danish researchers set the record straight on Copenhagen’s “greenness.”

According to two researchers’ Guardian op-ed, Copenhagen’s reputation as a sustainable city is undermined by its reliance on environmentally harmful practices. The construction of Lynetteholmen, a large artificial island, threatens marine ecosystems and generates significant CO2 emissions, despite lacking public support. Additionally, the city’s district heating system depends on imported biomass, which damages foreign forests and falsely claims to be carbon-neutral.
