On Offer: From the start, the property’s vision was rooted in unobtrusiveness that respects its natural surrounding. The prefab structures by sustainably focused firm Garrison Architects mix Japanese and Scandi styles and were delicately placed atop four-foot stilts among the maple and oak trees dotting the Catskills forest range, allowing wildlife and water from an on-site stream to remain undisturbed. Inside, organic materials and thoughtful touches sourced from Piaule’s global network of artisans, including ceramics by Kati von Lehman, Portuguese bed linens, Japanese-made glassware, and antique French stools sourced with Lichen NYC.
Standout Features: Sequestered within the hillside, the spa and wellness center offers guests reiki, sound baths, yoga, meditation, and more, as well as a steam room lined in bluestone, a cold plunge pool, and cedar-walled sauna with immersive views of the escarpment in the distance. Above the spa, executive chef Ryan Tate showcases the regional bounty with ingredients from local farms at the communal Main House. His multi-course pre-fix is on offer Thursday through Sunday each week, and restaurant-rich Hudson is only 20 minutes away for the nights when dinner service isn’t available. Either way, bring a bottle of wine to the terrace at golden hour for one of the best sunset shows around as the landscape is set aglow with amber light.
