New York City is soliciting RFPs to expand Park Avenue’s landscaped pedestrian mall.
The New York City mayor’s office and Department of Transportation have launched an initiative to revamp an 11-block stretch of Park Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, focusing on creating a wider pedestrian median and enhancing green space. The project coincides with the MTA’s underground infrastructure improvements and will be funded by private developers under the East Midtown Rezoning Plan.
California College of the Arts faces possible layoffs in the face of a $20 million deficit.
A significant drop in student enrollment and ensuing $20 million deficit have prompted California College of the Arts to consider potential layoffs and course adjustments to attract more students. Despite completing a $123 million Bay Area campus expansion, the school is considering mergers as a possible solution to its financial woes, and is presently focused on securing donors.
Dr. Marilyn Perry and Peter Marino will be honored at the World Monuments Fund gala.
Architect Peter Marino will be honored at the World Monuments Fund’s 35th annual Hadrian Gala on October 28, alongside art historian and the organization’s chair emerita Dr. Marilyn Perry. Marino, who chairs the nonprofit Venetian Heritage, is recognized for his efforts to preserve Venice’s architectural and cultural legacy.
