On Sept. 20, Krug Champagne hosted an intimate reception at the Brooklyn Museum ahead of a live orchestra performance of Ryuichi Sakamoto’s latest symphony. The award-winning Japanese composer premiered his “Suite for Krug 2008,” a symphony inspired by three champagnes crafted around a single year—Krug Clos du Mesnil 2008, Krug 2008, and Krug Grande Cuvée 164ème Édition—after liaising with Krug cellar master Julie Cavil. The three-movement performance was a synesthetic journey that lit up the museum’s magnificent Beaux-Arts Court before guests were seated for a dinner of champagne pairings inspired by the performance. Notable attendees included Questlove, Dev Hynes, Paul Rudd, Karen Elson, Jeremy O. Harris, PJ Mattan, and more.
