Chef Elena Reygadas opened Salon Rosetta above her Michelin-starred Roma Norte restaurant Rosetta in 2021. The intimate cocktail lounge, which the chef realized together with the Mexico-based architecture studio JSa, became an instant hit with its soft blue-green interiors and soft, moody lighting by Designer of the Day Paola Jose’s studio Sombra. The studio’s lighting design and custom fixtures create what Jose describes as a cocoon of warmth throughout—and illuminate the pastoral scenes depicted in the wall panels salvaged from a historically significant Mario Pani structure.

In recent months, the bar has continued to evolve, first serving as a laboratory for Reygadas’ ‘Rosetta’ glassware collection with R+D.Lab. Since then, its interiors have also been refreshed with a new crop of black rubber cocktail tables by artist-designer and Masa Galeria cofounder Brian Thoreen. On any given night, expect to see them stacked with Reygadas’ signature Hoja Santa Martini as guests kick off their night out or await dinner downstairs.
