Describe what you make: Furniture, products, and spatial design.
The most important thing you’ve designed to date: The Oaki Chair is a special project for me in many ways. It was one of the first things I designed after graduating and it was a part of my first time exhibiting in Milan, during Milan Design Week. It started my first collaboration with the Norwegian brand Northern, which I have been working with ever since. I’m also very proud that it was recently included in the permanent design collection of the National Museum of Oslo, which will open in 2021.
Describe the problem your work solves: I work with form and function to make things that people will enjoy in their everyday life, and hopefully take care of and keep for a very long time. My aim is to make sustainable, functional, and well-made things with details that make it unique.
Describe the project you are working on now: I’m working with a textile project, a sofa, baskets, and outdoor furniture collection, and more wooden furniture.
A new or forthcoming project we should know about: Dims. is launching a bar- and counter-height stool as part of the Cleo family this winter. You can sign up to be notified when they become available through Dims. We also have more pieces on the drawing board that’ll be added to the collection over the next year. Very excited about this!
What you absolutely must have in your studio: Daylight and lots of table space.
What you do when you’re not working: I like to go hiking. Bergen has seven mountains surrounding the city so luckily I don’t have to go far to spend time in nature.
