Inside the Storefront for Art and Architecture’s Annual Gala
On Sept. 23, Storefront for Art and Architecture drew a distinguished crowd of 250 design enthusiasts for its annual gala, dinner, and afterparty at the Grand Central Oyster Bar. Each year, the gala recognizes the artists and collaborators crucial to furthering the organization’s mission of amplifying how we perceive the built environment. The night kicked off with a festive cocktail hour with oysters followed by a dinner, during which the honorees—curator Tom Finkelpearl, architect Annabelle Selldorf, and artist Amanda Williams—spoke about their careers and communities. Notables in attendance included Toshiko Mori, Ekene Ijeoma, Wang Shui Frida Escobedo, Charles Renfro, José Esparza Chong Cuy, Max Hollein, Tatiana Bilbao, Steven Holl, Connie Butler, Gala Porras-Kim, Marc Tsurumaki, and more.
