Last Friday, to celebrate the Art Issue and new Surfacemag.com, Surface hosted The Party, Vol.2 during Miami Art Week. Inside the Faena Art Time Capsule, a geodesic dome on the beach behind the Faena Hotel Miami Beach, the scene was a mashup of designers, models, musicians, artists, and street-style influencers. Guests enjoyed live visuals from Camilo De Anna synced to DJ sets by fashion designers Heron Preston and Virgil Abloh, which included Brooklyn DJ producers No Vacancy Inn. At one point in the night, Surface’s past cover stars were projected on the ceiling video screen to Kanye West’s “Fade.”
Among the attendees were fashion designer Maxwell Osbourne, artist Phillip Colbert, model RJ King, blogger and style influencer Aimee Song, model Adwoa Aboah, British visual artist Shantell Martin, Gaia Matisse, fashion designer Andrew Warren, model Shanina Sheik, Adidas VP of global design Nic Galway, model Karolina Kurkova, Beats by Dre CMO Omar Johnson, socialite Alexandre Assouline, designer Sebastian Errazuriz, artist Zoe Buckman, hip-hop artist Travis Scott, dancer Shari Loeffler, architect Bjarke Ingels, hip-hop artist Joey Badass, artist Hank Willis Thomas, social influencer Yesjulz, hip-hop artist Raury, and actress Rose McGowan.
In addition to Faena Art, Surface partnered with Mercedes-Benz to produce the event.
