Situated within the stylistic enclave of Palm Beach’s Royal Poinciana Plaza Playhouse, designed by architect John Volk in the late 1950s, the visionary American fashion designer Thom Browne has opened his latest flagship store. Beyond the brand’s signature slatted blinds, now rendered in elegant wood, the store channels a nuanced interpretation of his mid-century modern office aesthetic—complete with a grid of ceiling lighting and floor-to-ceiling silver travertine stone walls and flooring.
When asked why he chose Palm Beach as the latest permanent retail destination, Browne shared, “so much of what I do is based on the ‘East Coast preppy’ aesthetic, that Americana, and there’s something about Palm Beach that just feels like a quintessential American dream holiday destination. For me, it’s also nice for people to see that I do things other than gray suits. I think that is sometimes a revelation for people.” Within, Browne presents a diverse selection of menswear, womenswear, childrenswear, and accessories, as well as products in the beauty, lifestyle, and home categories.
