With an Intimate Group Show, TRNK Toasts Chosen Families and Queer Kinship

On June 5, the furniture brand TRNK, the Leslie-Lohman Museum of Art, and The Standard, East Village, kicked off Pride month by hosting a celebratory dinner and afterparty to commemorate “Chosen,” a newly opened group exhibition that celebrates queer kinship and one’s “chosen family.” Attendees—among them TRNK founder Tariq Dixon, Leslie-Lohman Museum of Art director Alyssa Nitchun, author-activist Kimberly Drew, and the artists Kennedy Yanko and Lutfi Janania—sipped on cocktails courtesy of Madre Mezcal while browsing a sampling of the works at the hotel’s Garden and No Bar.
