Although it lacks the vibrant colors and glamorous clash of styles that define Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele’s revered fashion designs, the newest addition to Gucci’s G-Timeless line, a black-and-white 38 mm quartz watch, is equally as boundary-pushing.
A floating hologram adorns the dial and strap, lending the classic Gucci GG motif a playful and unexpected effect: three-dimensionality! A unisex plastic strap designed to fit all wrist sizes, from 150 mm to 192 mm, is finished with a stainless steel ardillon buckle. And the caseback features an engraving of the Ouroboros motif, continuing a theme seen in Gucci’s jewelry collection.
Beyond its technical attributes—including a sapphire crystal with antireflective coating and water resistance to 50 meters—the G-Timeless 38 mm builds on Gucci’s tradition of designing, developing and manufacturing iconic watches since the 1970s. And while it’s made in Switzerland, make no mistake: The heritage of this fetching black-and-white piece is all Italian.
