Zaha Hadid Architects has broken ground on its cultural center commission in Reggio Calabria, part of the Italian city’s waterfront redevelopment. Designed with fluid and organic forms, the aluminium-clad structure will house galleries, an auditorium, an aquarium, and community spaces arranged around a central atrium. Features incorporated to reduce its environmental impact include rainwater irrigation and a reflective facade.
