An adaptation of Ovid’s Metamorphoses was naturally fitting for artist Amy Sillman, who has explored endless change as a recurring theme in her work. In her new animated video drawing, Sillman layers abstract drawings and iPad sketches that follow the narrative of Ovid’s epic and rhythmically transition to a score by Berlin-based musician Wibke Tiarks, creating a mesmerizing moving-image of mixed-media. A limited-edition zine will compliment the exhibition.
