The venerable design collective’s first exhibition in two years celebrates the tactile meanings and emotional complexities of their tight-knit network of furniture, lighting, and textile designers coming together after a long, forced hiatus. Key pieces include a mother/son lighting system by Bec Brittain, a transatlantic collaborative chair by Studio Paolo Ferrari, and a set of vessels that Grain designed in honor of a family member lost during the pandemic. “We’re all trying to find our fitting in this new reality that Covid-19 left us with,” Colony founder Jean Lin says. “We’ve never been more acutely aware of the importance of community.”
