Julio Le Parc’s status as one of the century’s foremost op-art visionaries is further cemented by his first solo exhibition in Mexico, which juxtaposes his complex canvas compositions with acrylic mobiles that interrogate color relationships across the visible spectrum. “Much more than any geometricism, kinetics, or abstractionism, Le Parc’s work operates as a technological device by relating objects, spaces, and subjects in a specific moment of perception,” says curatorial text writer and researcher Daniel Montero Fayad. “Suspending the viewer’s sense of identity, the experience of the works emphasizes the relational logic it seeks to produce.”
