“Rashid Johnson: Hail Now We Sing”
WHEN+ADD TO CALENDAR
February 9, 2017 - May 21, 2017
New York-based artist Rashid Johnson’s latest body of work follows his obsession with minimalist systems and African-American iconography rendered in unruly material. This exhibition shows him working with wax, enamel, and other media to make expressive marks on rows of white ceramic tile. The show’s centerpiece, “Antoine’s Organ” (2016), nods to Sol Lewitt with a large, three-dimensional grid overgrown by houseplants.
