This year, the Golden Gate city’s annual festival focuses on designs for a better future with the theme “Start Here.” Among the 225 exhibitions, workshops, and open studios happening across town are highlights such as an exhibition of new California design (“California Varietals”), a discussion led by design leaders on digital currencies (“Design in a Brave New World”), and Design Hub, a two-day program of forward-thinking workshops, exhibitions, and installations.
