As New York’s first major international art fair, the Armory has struggled in recent years to keep up with its increasingly flashy and prolific competitors. But its new director, Benjamin Genocchio, has promised to shake things up. Among the surprises in store will be the Platform section, curated by Eric Shiner of Sotheby’s, which will include commissioned works by such big-name artists as Yayoi Kusama and Iván Navarro.
