Vincenzo De Cotiis’s new body of work investigates the creation of contemporary urban imagery, where cities become places of contamination and culture of displacement. Known for his singular collections that explore ideas about the passage of time, the Italian designer’s new pieces incorporate fabrics, recycled fibreglass, metals, and other materials whose amalgamation represents the differences and similarities of cultures during certain periods. The result: seats sculpted like African thrones, Eastern-inspired tables structured by stilts, anthropomorphic urns, and more.
