Lawrence J. Ellison Institute for Transformative Medicine

The Lawrence J. Ellison Institute for Transformative Medicine is a world-class cancer research and treatment institute with a mission that encourages healthcare professionals to collaborate and interact with patients, researchers, and donors in a nature-centric environment. RIOS' work combines nature-infused wellness principles with interdependent collaboration spaces to design a first-of-its-kind Life Sciences space.

Modern Bungalow

This modern bungalow in Southern California reverses the design to position the loft-like living spaces towards the backyard and private rooms towards the street to maximize outdoor living and embrace the urban nature of city living. Deep colors, jewel-toned leathers, accents of brass, and exuberant tiles combine with simple fixtures creating an unapologetic oasis that embraces the seasonal shifts and brings a sense of wonder and introspection to the homeowners.

GoodRx Headquarters

GoodRx’s evolution from start-up to headquarters is expressed with a design that marries a residential feel with buzzing workplace to capture wellness, promote community, and connect programs within an experience that is ever-changing. The design uses urban planning principles to break down spaces and connect people to one another. Areas like a meeting hub, food hall, library, and speakeasy are interspersed with lush plantings that bring nature inside.

1 Hotel West Hollywood

At 1 Hotel, hospitality collides with nature. RIOS completed the landscape design and interior improvements to create an exuberant planting strategy that maximizes the experience of the exterior and interior spaces. Guests enjoy an enveloping natural experience throughout the property that includes repurposed materials and highly textured materials, such as reclaimed rood, tree bark, red brick, terra cotta tile, and limestone.

ROW DTLA

ROW DTLA is an ambitious 30-acre adaptive reuse project that reimagines 100 years of history into a 21st-century commercial district that links downtown to L.A.'s burgeoning Arts District. The design uses industrial materials and utilitarian details to transform ROW's long rows of warehouse-style buildings into 1.3 million square feet of creative office space. Over 100 unique retail stores and 30,000 square feet of space for the arts, including dedicated space for street art, enliven the complex at all hours of the day and night.
